Conversion of Noodle Business theme to TextPattern
Hi there,
did anyone convert the open source theme Noodle Business to TextPattern please?
If not, can I get some expert advice about converting it? I’m a newbie and am trying to learn as fast as I can, but I need a little help nonetheless.
Please excuse me in case this is not polite behaviour about themes, and just tell me.
Thanks in advance,
lux

In the land of TXP, although there is a very good themeing mechanisms and themes, you should start thinking inside-out… That is instead of “is this theme available for textpattern”, more along the lines of “I have a look (pages in html/css). What textpattern do I want in my site” From there it’s just a matter of placing TXP tags into your markup to achaive that.
You’ll build way more flexible sites this way.

Hi lux,
Took a look at the Noodle Business template, and it’s not a very difficult template to convert. Keep in mind that the header has images that would need to be modified with new wording.
Are you willing to pay for a conversion?

Looking it over, it is the essence of a template rather than a theme – meaning that it is a single page. If you want a blog, etc. to go with it per the navigation buttons, someone is going to have pretty much design the whole thing.
It is certainly possible, but not quite as simple as converting something that already has all the pieces in place.

Hi hcgtv,
I’m investigating the matter. I’d like to be able to do it by myself and learn along the process, but maybe there will be a budget.
In the latter case, I’ll let you know for sure.
Thanks to everyone for the advice. :)
