spawning multiple sites
i am experimenting with making a new site by using the sections feature of a current install. this new website will be very simple, so i figure i can get away with it. the only downside i can see off the bat is i’m having trouble mapping a subdomain to this section. it could be just a server delay.
well now i’m wondering: has anyone else powered a whole website using this method? and i read tonight on a different thread, someone mentioned a multiple site mode. where can i find more info on that?

Re: spawning multiple sites
thanks. i see a lot of discussion about the multisites have a single database, but do they share the same admin panel too? for me, the main benefit of doing any of this monkey business would be if i could post to multiple blogs from the same panel.

Neither. Multi-site makes it possible to use same source files (basically /textpattern dir) for multiple textpattern installations (sites), and, as so, also lets the admin location be freely moved around. That’s it.
