Displaying Categories - Subcategories - Items all in a page

Hello,
I need to display a products index page, done this way

Category 1
-- Subcategory 1
---- Item 1
---- Item 2
-- Subcategory 2
---- Item 3
---- Item 4
Category 2
-- Subcategory 3
---- Item 5
---- Item 6
-- Subcategory 4
---- Item 7

The page should be dynamic so that I can display Subcategory 2 items, or Category 1 items, or them all. I think I should use an article within an article, is that feasible? Do you have any suggestion?
