mysql requirements confusion

I am confused about the new MySQL requirements for v4.3

Textpattern 4.3.0 requires a web server with:

  • PHP 4.3+
  • MySQL 3.23+

In addition to the above minimum requirements, we recommend the following:

  • PHP 4.4.1+ or 5.0.2+
  • MySQL 4.1.7+

I guess that the above means that txp 4.3 can work with php4.3 and mysql3.23?

Also is MySQL: 4.1.22 higher than MySQL 4.1.7?

Sorry, made me giggle. Is that even a serious question? Yes 22 is higher than 7.

Glad it entertained you:) Wasn’t sure if it meant 4.1.2.2 versioning always confuses me. In architecture it is much simpler:) Draft 1, 2, 3 etc.

Re: mysql requirements confusion

hmm.

I get that it is “7”

but isn’t it proper with decimals to read 4.1.7 the same as 4.1.70? Wouldn’t a properly written “7” be 4.1.07?

or is it different with versioning?
