Re: Just Write about TXP: win an iPod Touch
Okay, my entry and a chance to point out that today pretty much marks Seven Years of Textpattern.
And not that I think it is winning material, but I formally withdraw from the competition. I am very happy with my 6th gen Nano.
You can also consider part of the soft relaunch of CMS Styles, my long-fallow site. I had hoped to get some more work done on it before my self-imposed deadline but it didn’t work out. I have been really intrigued by the things that Stuart has been doing with his templates and there are so many freely-licensed quality ones out there, I am sure it won’t be a question of whether I can find any to convert, but which ones I can get to.

Re: Just Write about TXP: win an iPod Touch
On behalf of my wife — her post at our personal blog about switching to Txp for her classroom website.
(cough, cough – sadly, our personal site is the last to get any loving. Definitely needs some sprucing up)

Am I too late? TXP is my Gibson SG is possibly the most erroneously named article in blogdom.

Very very excellent article, Mr Dale !
There’s one typo:
Content and
PresentantionPresentation

Re: Just Write about TXP: win an iPod Touch
Very nice, Mr. Dale
Probably another typo? (Apparently celar is a real word. Just doesn’t quite fit the context)
Textpattern immediately appealed to me for one key reason; a celar line between content/presentation.

Re: Just Write about TXP: win an iPod Touch
Thanks for all the entries. The closing date has now passed and we’ll be announcing the winner in due course.
Just because the contest has ended doesn’t mean the writing can cease :-) We love to read about how people are using TXP in their projects so anything cool you have to say about it increases your karma-phala and makes us feel all warm and fluffy inside too. Thanks again.

Re: Just Write about TXP: win an iPod Touch
Ah, the Irony.
Competition aims to increase visibility/popularity of TXP and prompts a very good (persuasive) opinion piece expressing a preference for TXP based partly on it’s relative obscurity.
I say If Bert wins i say he has to move txptag.com to wordpress. ;)

I have WordPress running safely in a virtual machine, needed to install it just to figure out the Twenty Ten template. It does have a purty admin side, I’ll give it that, but I won’t give it access to the Net ;)

Re: Just Write about TXP: win an iPod Touch
The votes of the jury are in, and we have a winner!
Congrats to mrdale, who hit the sweet spot with his entry TXP is my Gibson SG.
We were particularly impressed by Dale’s ability to write up a piece about Textpattern while neither linking to the Textpattern site nor mentioning Textpattern in the post’s title but adding a plug for some brand of noisy axes. The iPod is already in a USPS courier’s messenger bag:
If we had a second prize at our disposal, we would have awarded it to Stuart. His entry titled Why I Still Use Textpattern? is a true piece of romance and love.
Thanks to all who contributed!

Congratulations to the winner! I liked the post as well and it even inspired me to jot down some of my reasons to call Textpattern my favourite CMS. My post you can read here
