Apostrophes should not be converted to hyphens for URLs

When an article title has apostrophes in it, Textpattern currently turns that into a hyphen when making up a URL. Don’t you think it would be better to simply remove that character in URLs instead?

For example, a title of:

It's my article

Currently is converted to a URL of:

mysite.com/it-s-my-article

When it could be:

mysite.com/its-my-article

I like that Phil. I read, somewhere here recently, a thread suggesting the apostrophe remain but I have a niggling feeling way back in my mind that would be a potential problem. Simply removing them would be better. More “readable” that way methinks.

Diacritics and punctuation are very culture-dependent, so we have a stable chance of “doing it wrong” in core. Lucky chaps that we are, there’s a hook for plugins to fulfill even the most esoteric wishes. Go ad lib.
