Re: glz_custom_fields
Haha :), but bru I am in serious problem, I cant even import the .sql to a new database. I figured Txp only supports up to 12 custom fields

Re: glz_custom_fields
Are you running the save version of MySQL on both servers? I had a similar problem once: the publish server was using an older MySQL version than my dev server. Once I exported the SQL to a file compatible with the older version, the import worked fine. I used the Export pane in phpMyAdmin to change the SQL compatibility settings.

Re: glz_custom_fields
Hmm, I think you may be right because I also had errors for the ebl_image plugin. I should have a look into it. But my question is, is there a limit for the custom fields?

Not one that you’re likely to run into.
I’ve had 50+ custom fields before with no problems.
If you had over a few thousand things might start to slow down, but that would just be because of page rendering time, rather than DB issues etc.

Re: glz_custom_fields
Hello,
I have a problem with textareas. I can can create them all right but in the “Write” tab they don’t appear at all. If I edit this very same field into a textfield, then it appears correctly. Is anybody else experiencing the same issue?
I’m using TXP 4.3.0 and plug-in ver. 1.2.4.

It was a DB issue :), Johnstephens was correct

Strange problem, I never had this issue, I made 20 textareas the other day. Textareas doesnt go onto the sidebar, did you look below Body/Excerpt field,?
Unnecessary question (just checking) – are you using bot_wtc?

What other content types would you want custom fields for? The script content type is super flexible, that would be the starting point for creating shared custom field types.
I read your comments regarding custom fields for images, it makes sense, I’m putting it down as a user story.

D’oh, I didn’t know that. I had excerpts turned off and I guess this is why the CF didn’t appear (perhaps this could serve as a minor bug report, tho).
Thank you. :)

If you can’t see your textarea custom fields under the body & excerpt, I would check what other plugins you have running.

Re: glz_custom_fields
I am in the same boat as Johnstephens.
Custom fields for other content types would be pretty sweet.
It would be great if you can apply new custom fields for the category/images area, like adding textarea for description. Custom fields shouldnt only be made just for articles
Currently the article is the only content type that allows custom fields, but I think Textpattern’s core currently allows the other content types to be extended— by plugins.
GREAT

Re: glz_custom_fields
About custom field for images, just want to point out that bot_image_upload exists and works fine with custom fields. You can have multiple images inside the article image field and even sort them manually, by dragging the thumbnails. Not that I want to slow down anything about multiple image fields, but maybe that could be a good interim solution or a starting point when working on an improvement.
Also, I add my request: the ability to easily add videos as custom fields. Some clients needs to add videos to articles, and that’s not as easy as including an image (especially if you use TinyMCE). Images could be added via custom fields or TinyMCE image extension, that works fine. Video is not so straightforward. A custom field with multiple options, ranging from pasting a code from external services as yotube or Vimeo, to uploading a video and calling it in the field could be useful. Maybe that is beyond the custom_field purpose, because it then need to have an admin section in the backend for uploaded videos. Just wanted to raise a call and see if anyone else find that useful too or have any further ideas.
Apart from that, I really wanted to thank Gerhard once again for his precious work, that help set TXP as a better enviroment for client sites!
