Oh go on then. Just be thankful it isn’t Friday.

Nice write up Stuart!
One comment confused me, however.
Files are stored in the database whilst images are uploaded to the “images” directory and information about them stored in the database.
Is that correct? I thought the files were stored in the file directory in the same way images are stored.
Thanks

I have no idea what I was thinking about there Mike. You think I would know wouldn’t you? Corrected.

Re: Just Write about TXP: win an iPod Touch
May I share a story of global commerce woes?
It goes like this: Dreamhost ordered the iPod in the US, got the merchant to ship the valued prize to me, and on the receiving end I today was charged with a mere 74.18 EUR in taxes, delivery charges and custom duties for the pleasure of being the lucky winner.
So buyer beware: If you happen to be the chosen one, your tax inquisitor may be after you, too.

Hmm. Maybe the iPod should be the second prize, then. First prize: we WON’T ship you an iPod.

Actually it did occur to me, it being a US model, whether you would be able to re-charge it on this side of the pond?

Nevermind. Textpattern is, and will always be, an expensive hobby.

I was able to charge my devices (netbook, iPhone etc.) last summer when I was in Italy – I just had to have one of these.

Hereis a short blurb on why I, a 17 year old, continuously use Textpattern to develop my sites. Skip to “The Nitty Gritty” paragraph. :)

Re: Just Write about TXP: win an iPod Touch
Thank you very much Daniel. That’s a sweet-looking site too.
All
I was going to post today to remind everyone that there’s only a few days left to get your entries in. Even if you’re not fussed about the iPod (I think I must be the only person in the galaxy without one), please consider writing something anyway and posting a link here.
Doesn’t have to be as elaborate as Stuart’s; a piece like Daniel’s is perfect, or just a short anecdote about a time when a client loved a particular feature or it allowed you to build a facet of a site you’re proud of. Tweet if you’re terse enough to complete the sentence “I love TXP because…” in 140 chars. Anything at all.
Why? You get a link from here, textpattern.com gets a link back: it’s all good. And one of the recurring themes we hear from veterans is the notion of “heard about Textpattern — can’t remember how I found it — and have rarely looked back”. Word of mouth at work. So let’s make it more likely for people to find us with some good old Reciprocal Affection…
Thanks!

here’s my post.
thanks for this sweet opportunity (fyi, this new mom-to-be would absolutely love an ipod touch considering the ipod i have currently is ohhh about five! years old.) …. but more than anything thanks devs for making and supporting textpattern. i’m going on seven years now of using it and it’s the absolute best.
;)

andrea, I’m having a bit of trouble with the speling of Textpattern in your post’s title ;) Might want to add another “t”?
