Forum ico image (not the forum's)

Why does the forum use Ethan Marcotte’s Unstoppable Robot Ninja favicon image? (Granted, it seems to appear and disappear, so probably not implemented very well.)

Can’t say I’ve seen it myself Destry. As far as my browser is concerned the forum doesn’t have a favicon. :(

I’ve never seen that favicon associated with a TXP forum tab. But I would love, love love to see a favicon in use here. “Which one of these generic white icons represents the TXP forum,” he asked as he surveyed his 40 open tabs.

I’ve also never seen a favicon on this forum, wish we did have one.

Soooo right ;) Yes, can we please have a favicon! And no, I’ve never seen that favicon here.

Re: Forum ico image (not the forum's)

Well, the robot ninja ico is there, and I just took a screenshot. I have to hit the rack now, but I’ll upload it tomorrow so you can see for yourself.

Btw, it only shows it’s head when I’m logged in, which uses a different theme, so maybe it got slipped into the logged in theme code somehow?

Speaking of which, why are there two different presentations for logged out and logged in? I can’t remember the history, but at this point in time it seems lame.

Which forum theme are you using? You can find the setting in Profile – Display. That would be why it’s different when you aren’t logged in.

Re: Forum ico image (not the forum's)

Ah yeah. I forgot about that. I was using tabula. I think I’ll use oxygen again. It’s a little old school, but the txpish weighs on my senses like an ox yolk.

Anyway, the ico…

So I’m guessing the ico is in that theme, which means whoever created tabula is the guilty party.

Re: Forum ico image (not the forum's)

And about a real ico for the forum… personally I think it should be the same as .com, since the forum is on .com.

I also think it’s time for a new default theme that more aligns with the brand (I’m sure I have a mockup somewhere), but lipstick on an old pig is just wasted effort.

Re: Forum ico image (not the forum's)

Well, it’s not just in the tabula theme, but txpish too. I’ve seen this on and off for a long time, actually. I never thought about it before until recently visiting Marcotte’s site and realized the ico was his. Strange no one else is seeing it.

Re: Forum ico image (not the forum's)

Just checking the source code (seems a bit obvious) there is no favicon link.
