I’ve only had time to glance at it, but I tend to think of this as reasonably consistent behavior. The conditional tags that check for global context are similarly named: if_category, if_section, if_author. The equivalent for articles would be if_article or if_id.

Over the years, the concept of “context” has not always been handled consistently so we do have a range of behaviors to deal with. Yes, now that I’ve gone into the subject so thoroughly I’d like to see more consistency :)

Me too. If only I’d done this depth of study before I embarked upon the image context! Well maybe TXP 5 is the ticket to do it more consistently…
