Another option is to have the install script write out the config.php, if it fails, then let the user do the copy/paste scenario. On most hosts these days, your userid is the owner of your webspace, so the script has write capabilities and there’s also no need to chmod the images or files directory.

Unfortunately TextEdit defaults to Rich Text Format. You can use vi in a Terminal window or a dedicated code editor instead.
