Introducing...Escher CMS

Textpattern has a new cousin…Escher CMS.

Originally created as a sort of proving ground for testing out some new concepts and ideas I had kicking around in my brain, my side-project gradually grew into a full-fledged useful system in its own right. Today, I release it to the public as a free open source project, and I invite you to “kick the tires.” Escher CMS can be downloaded from the Escher CMS project web site.

Just to be clear, this project is not a fork of Textpattern. It is an entirely new code base (although its tag parser is based on Ruud’s excellent Textpattern tag parser). I think of Escher as complementary to Textpattern – not competitive. Just another tool in the web designer’s/developer’s toolbox.

Give it a spin and let me know how you like it!

Cheers,

Sam

OK, that’s got to be the coolest tag ever:

Looks really cool so far! Thanks for sharing.

Re: Introducing...Escher CMS

Hi Sam
This looks very promising !
I’m curious to try it, as soon as more tags are documented. Nice you choose xml tags, like in Textpattern. We need more CMSs with that feature! The whole concept looks great.
I wish you success with your project !
