More than one article tabs

Hi,
Is there a way to separate certain article sections in a separate article tab?
My clients get confused with every article, blog entries, etc… All being in the same list.
Is there a way to create a tab and specify what kind of articles to display?
Thanks

So, it’s a question about the article list tab, right? Edit: Right, the topic’s title.

And you probably told your client he can
a) limit the amount of details displayed with the checkbox at the bottom of the tab
b) limit the list by adjusting the number of articles displayed with the dropdown menu at the bottom of the tab and
c) list just one section’s articles by using the dropdown menu on top of the list.

No, no separate tabs plugin I’m aware of. But do you know these two: lam_browse_by and tjh_listfilter?

Re: More than one article tabs

Yes, exactly.
Even explaining all that and how to view the different articles they all want a separate tab for the articles.
That’s 80% of my clients.
Those plugins are a good solution and have used them before but not exactly what they ask for.

Thanks anyway

Hm, you can have … like unlimited numbers of sections. Where do you want to stick all these tabs? Probably not feasible like that.

Just thinking how it could be done then:
Have you let your clients use wet_quicklink with its AJAXing, narrowing down, interactive UI? And if so: did they like that?

Re: More than one article tabs

Hi Uli,
Displaying all the sections is defenetly not the solution.

Here is a scenario:
A- blog entries
B- text for sections (about page, contact us, services, etc)
C- text for ads (houses for sale)

All this is displayed in the same tab.
The perfect would be to have an article tab for A+B, and a new one for C.

Re: More than one article tabs

This is what I had in mind

A drop down menu under the “write” and “Articles” tabs that shows all the site sections.
I think it would make it much clearer for most users, since it really does get confusing once you have a lot of articles.

It’s not the exactly what you all are looking for but I think you all should try rah_write_each_section
