More than 2 categories for an article

Hi,

Did a search but didn’t find an answer.

I know there were changes in the core a few releases back to facilitate having more than 2 categories per article. Is there a preferred plugin or is there another method to achieve more categories.

Look for rss_unlimited_categories. But I think there is no more development.

Or try smd_tags

I came across rss_unlimited_categories in my search, but since there is no development going on I passed it up.

smd_tags, I guess cause of the name and the title of the forum post, I didn’t see it in my searching.

I think you are talking about more than ten custom fields. The two category restriction is still valid AFAIK.

I didn’t use smd_tags until today because it is using its own table and admin side text fields for tags (esp. not cooperating with the keywords field!). I am not sure about the TXP core categories.

@Els I didn’t want to write that :) I am sure Bert knows about the differences between keywords and categories. Well, both are working site wide … and yes, I use tru_tags as an unlimited categories tool :)

Honestly, I’ve never had the need for more than 2 categories before. I learned what I needed to learn to put up dynamic sites with Textpattern, and have been content with the features inherit in the core. So looking for a plugin to extend the core hasn’t happened much in my case.
