Local installation or hosted installation

Hi

I am new to TP and I hope I am not reposting a question on here again, but wanted to know if I created a local version (on MAMP) of my website and then wanted to move it to make it live on my web host, is it a simple enough process? And if it is? Can someone point me in the right direction.

Sorry if this sounds like a silly question but I am new to all this CMS, Back end stuff.

And in another spooky, but not uncommon Textpattern coincidence, adi_prefs just released today might help in managing the preference settings when transferring your site. I copy sites around all the time – & the plugin forum post has a brief description of the steps I go through.
