Files missing after upgrade to 4.2
Hi
I just upgraded from 4.08 to 4.2, now in the Files tab, all my files are listed as missing. I have “777” perminssion on my files folder, and have double checked the path to that folder – all ok.
All my diagnostics pass.
Any ideas?

Is it possible that you replaced your existing files folder with the (empty) folder in the Txp install? If that is the case, there is no other way than to upload them again.

The files folder that is on my server has a last modified date of 2009, so I don’t think I have inadvertantly replaced it.
However, it doesn’t cotain any files, just two empty folders – svn and files.
Should my files folder contain the files themselves? If so they are definately not there!

yes, the files folder should contain files, so that explains the message you’re getting in TXP.

So it looks like doing the upgrade somewhow deleted the files – I did not overwrite the files folder. If I had, then surely the last modified date on the files folder would be the install date. I just double-checked, and the last modified date, according to Filezilla, is actually 2006, which would also be wrong as files have been uploaded this year. I am very confused!

Yes, the files folder is empty – except for two subfolders which are also empty

There should not be a ‘svn’ or ‘files’ folder inside the ‘files’ folder. It doesn’t hurt, but that’s not what TXP would install on upgrade, so something else must have happened.

I’m hosted with Joyent, I think they put the svn folder there – there are others elsewhere. Don’t know about the files subfolder but I am sure I didn’t put it there. Unless of course I am going mad, which is a possibility
