Is 4.0.8 still available someplace?
Hi,
I’m having trouble with 4.2.0 on my sites and I think I’ll just use 4.0.8 for now. I had been using 4.0.6 previously, but I can’t seem to find any download links.
I think it would be useful to keep the links of previous releases up, espeically since 4.2.0 was a relatively big upgrade.
I wish I could use 4.2.0 and that might happen in a few weeks, but for now I need 4.0.8!
Thanks,
Shige

Better would be to solve the problems. What is the trouble?

Oh boy… You can get any changeset from the SVN.
The packaged milestone files are still (for awhile) intact on the Textpattern.com too:
Do not downgrade to any version prior 4.0.6 because of security updates.

I’m having trouble with my upgrade, too. Plugins I’ve been using are no longer working, including the critical ign_password_protect. In addition, I have had some problems with admin features available to contributors with roles less than publisher. It’s been a very unhapy experience. Now I know, never upgrade to anything that ends in .0

It really can be frustrating when an upgrade causes headaches. Been there. Sorry to hear that you have had a time of it.
In all fairness, it’s not 4.20 that’s a problem per say. Rather, there were significant changes and that meant plugins needed to be modified.
Txp generally does a great job at keeping backward compatibility. Arguably at times to the detriment of progress. However, there has to be progress and improvements. And that means sometimes plugins will need to be updated.
Most all of the plugins that have issues have documented. Many have been updated. Fixes have been posted for most of the rest. There’s a couple of threads floating around out there with the info.
