Lancott fashion company
A new site from TXP Builders – Lancott. More information may be found on the TXP Builders portfolio entry.
The site requirements included a multi-lingual setup for which the excellent MLP was used, along with full screen images with which to showcase the excellent photography. The client was very keen to keep the look and feel from the 2010 Collections catalogues, produced by the Pia Design Studio.
Markup is HTML5, fonts by TypeKit. Some tiding up to be performed but otherwise finished.

Re: Lancott fashion company
Very clean and minimalistic look – lovely!
And also nice use of full-screen images.
I must admit though that I was staring at the collections page for a while expecting something to happen. It was then more by accident that I discovered the ‘hot areas’ left and right. Perhaps making that hover arrow indicator permanent would be more clear.

The full size images are indeed cool.
and the jQuery Galleriffic & Opacity Rollover plugins are really nice =)

+1
took me a lot of time to understand and find the arrows and the thmbnails at the bottom.
I suggest to add a fadein-fadeout small jquery message to direct visitors to the bottom thumbnails list,
or to make the arrows to kind of blink 3 times to give a clue.

Thanks Martin and Gil for the feedback. I changed the arrows now to display constantly with a low opacity setting to retain the focus on the images.
Edit: Did you notice the cursor controls – you can move back and forward with the left/right arrow on the keyboard.

That’s better.

No, neither had I noticed the thumbnails at the bottom before Gil mentioned them. I’m just not used to looking for hidden features at the bottom of a page. Perhaps another, downwards pointing arrow would help there.

Re: Lancott fashion company
Very cool design!
The arrow(s) are still very hard to see on some images. Nice helper widget like thing that shows/tells how it works? Or just plain and simple play-slide?
I also noticed that the thumbnails-bar at the bottom doesn’t show correct in the latest Firefox (3.6) of Safari (5).
What was the reason to not make this in Flash? SEO-wise this website is not much better then Flash website as search-engines still need content (text) to index. Also lack of keywords and description isn’t very helpful. Or I’m missing a language? :)
My 2 cent.
Cheers,
Mischa
