Update The Site Sections Page

Please make this a list down the right hand side like Pages and Forms.

So you click on the Section you want to update.

It’s been asked for for years but never seems to get done.

Is it a lot more complicated to do this way than Pages & Forms?

Thanks for all the great work to all the devs

Geoff

Unfortunately, yes. That’s why it’s not been done to date. Plus there a few horrible things on that Page, like the Selected by default radios which should not even be a radio choice; let alone be listed against every section!

The functionality of the page is under review and will be tackled as part of TXP 5. I’ve had a few goes at the page so far, but have always fell short on at least one of the design hurdles we’re trying to solve. After some more tweaking and batting some ideas around this week though I think I’m getting closer to something that might have legs. If it meets the goals I’ll hand the blueprints over to a bunch of talented designers to take to the next level… who will then throw it back at us devs to actually make happen.

Of course, this one might fail as well and then it’s back to the drawing board… again. I’m not cut out for UI design; I’m really not :-)

Something else regarding the sections tab. I assume that this doesn’t apply for most users, but I just had a look at a site that has over 200 sections, causing the sections tab to load extremely slow. Is pagination for this tab (similar to the articles and images tabs) part of your blueprint?

I should think so. It would make sense to do so if we can wrestle the rest of the tab into some kind of usable shape.
