Just in case you wonder why the first code example didn’t work: this tag <txp:if_article_category number="2" name='<txp:category2 />'> was only comparing the article’s category 2 to its own category 2, that was just plain stupid… The individual article’s category 2 had to be determined outside of the article_custom tag.
