txp-4.2.0, multiple sites and the case of missing admin stylesheet.

I’ve been using Textpattern amateurishly for a year or so and was happy to discover that 4.2.0 supports multiple sites – which means I can grow my little website empire and eventually dominate the entire Internet mwhahahhaa!!!!

Unhappily I’ve been foiled by a small problem. I’m missing (or at least it doesn’t seem to work or be able to find…) the standard style sheet, and I think some behavior scripts, for the admin area. Otherwise it seems to work – but just not quite as intended.

I don’t know if it’s related, but my web host is 1&1, who don’t support symbolic links by default and doesn’t allow me to directly tweak server settings as suggested in the multiple sites readme file, so I’ve created a simple .htaccess file in my root directory that adds an option for symlinks ~ a setting which I think should be inherited in subdirectories ~ and I otherwise use a .htaccess file in the public directory that I copy/pasted from somewhere a few years back that seems to get 1&1 working with clean URLs . But that’s about as far as my lack of knowledge goes – so I’m hoping someone here might have some bright ideas that might help shed some light on the problem.

Thanks in advance…
Jason
