Theme installation
Hello,
It’s been a few years since I’ve used and developed with Textpattern. I’m very excited to try it again and was wondering if any enhancements have been made to installing themes? For example, for someone new to Textpatter, is it easier to install themes compared to a few years ago?
Just curious.
Thank you.

Re: Theme installation
Chad, depends on the theme. If the theme is just stack of files, then yes, it’s still the same old copy+paste stuff. But, if the theme provides an installer script or uses some of the versioning/template plugins (mem_templates for one) for installation, then it’s simpler.
Edit. In addition, backend theming system is genuinely automated. Installing a theme just requires copying theme folder to themes directory and activating the theme.

Re: Theme installation
Thanks for the info! That doesn’t sound all that difficult. I do a lot of development with Wordpress and Drupal but have always missed Textpattern. Would love to do more sites for clients with Textpattern.
Thanks!

Re: Theme installation
Hi Chad.
Have a look at both Blue Sky and Bueno to see what Jukka is talking about when he mentions “mem_templates”.
Textgarden also has quite a few admin themes for you to get your teeth into. This may be a new concept for you if you haven’t used Txp for a while.

Re: Theme installation
Hi, i saw Romanian also as language option, this was a nice surprise for me. I checked some themes on textpattern.com but I found only from three years ago, maybe is other place to look?
Thanks!
