setting default section on the dropdown
i thought i saw a plugin a while ago that changes which section is selected by default when writing an article. does anyone know which one it is?
and while i’m on this topic, does anyone know which plugin customizes if the person sees the Articles tab or the Write tab as the first thing?

Both these options are built in to TXP. The first one is chosen in the Sections screen (Selected by default) option – and the second in the Advanced Preferences screen (Default admin tab).

Jonathan is correct. In addition to that, years ago I released two plugins related to the topic:
- Set default categories: rah_default_category
- Select section first: rah_write_each_section
Not to forget great:
- Netcarver’s sed_section_fields that plays with sections and visible fields
- RedBot’s bot_hide_section that hides sections
- …and it’s follower bot_customize
Just thought to share as you asked plugins that customizes the field’s behaviour :)
