Hi, Just converted site from Wordpress to TXP. Need help on Stuff.

Well first i am not a coder, so don’t blame me for screwing the whole thing lol.

First of all, is there anybody who can convert a wordpress theme to textpattern. i still have 20 bucks in my paypal account if its worth it.

my wordpress theme is called silverlight, i edited it very very much, here is packed version if any one is intrested: http://sports2all.com/sitetools/files/silverlight.zip

If not then i have few stuff, that are important to solve.

Currently, i made a temporary version of my style, in which i added a lot of html content to the template etc just to get my site working, its mostly working actually except of few stuff which i am gonno mention after the code. this will look very very ugly.

First problem:

its the navigations links, i donno how to make them work, i mean this is a normal link:
<li class="page_item page-item-63"><a href="http://sports2all.com" title="Home">Home</a></li>

And this is the page which is opened link.
<li class="page_item page-item-63 current_page_item"><a href="http://sports2all.com" title="Home">Home</a></li>

The difference is that current_page_item, which makes the nav tab blue. making it look like that home page is open.

but how can i make this to work when like i open chat page, and then the chat nav tab gets blue. or in other words how can i add current_page_item to the link page which is open.

but i tired on other links, like forum, chat etc. can you give one example of the other link too, like for example: chat

See if_section. Name attribute is the the name of the section.

The other tag used, was <txp:site_url />. It just outputs the URL of the site.

but it didnt work, probably because there is no section called chat, its just an article.

You’ll probably want to create a section for chat + create a page that calls that article. If you really just want to link to an article (that’s assigned to a section/page already), you can reference the article by it’s ID. Something like:

<li class="page_item page-item-40"><txp:article_custom id="123"><permlink><txp:title /></permlink></txp:article_custom></li>

edit. changing the article ID to the relevant ID, of course

well i tried your code, and changed the id, the only thing that was shown in the menu area was the Chat. no link, not a tab.

i think we are closer to this, i mean i just have to use that gocom code:

but change the site_url to a way that it calls the chat article by its id. i dont know exactly how to do that.

And i dont understand about the section thing, i mean if i created a section, then i should assign the chat page to that section, is that it.

What I was trying to say was: An article needs to be assigned to a section, and a section is assigned to a page: so if you want a http://yourdomain.ext/chat url, you would need to create a specific chat section, assign a page to that section (could be an existing page) and post the article there.

BTW I recommend you have a look at those links Els gave you on the semantic model as well as the tag reference

I’m not sure in what context your using this but a remark on the code you’re using: I think you want <txp:if_section name=“default”> wrapping around the list item, so you take out the whole list-item when it returns false.
