Special download / Opt-in / PHP
Hi,
i seek help for the following request:
a client offers a couple of PDFs for downloading. Now she wants to get in return the emailadr of the users.
Her idea is:
- list all PDFs on a page with checkboxes so user can check the ones s/he likes to download.
- Once sent, user is directet to a form where s/he has to insert his/her name, email etc.
- Once sent the required PDFS are presented for downloading
Site runs on TXP 4.2.0.
If you are interested and/or have a good idea how this can be achieved, please send me an email.

if it doesn’t need to be super-secret-service secure and just a “give me your email and I’ll show you the goods”, this thread pretty much spells it out for you.

You can use zem_contact_reborn where instead of a thank you message you can have the list of downloads

Hi you guys,
nice to see you again :) and Thank you so much for your ideas!
I know ZCR pretty well. Though ZCR can redirect to a page with all PDFs listed – this it not exactly what the lady wants. Thanks Julian for pointing me to yab_download! This plugin comes pretty close to what i need – BUT it does not offer the email function. The clients primary interest is getting the users emailadr + name, so she can contact them again (marketing).
What i seek seems to be a combination of ZCR + yab_download – or yab_download extened by some input fields and mailfunctionality.
The procedure i have in mind is:
- Page A: form with inputfield for name + emailadr + list of all available PDFs with checkboxes + submit button
- User checks the PDFs s/he wants and puts in name and emailadr – submits
- Email is sent to client with info: Peter Pan, peter@pantest.com, PDF1, PDF2 etc..
User Peter Pan is directed to a page where he can download solely the files he requested (not a list with all files).
There is no need to keep pages top secret or building a secret section, login or anything like that.
If anybody feels like programming something like that / extending the yab_download plugin let me know and let me know what you charge.
I caught a bad flu :( will respond but might take a couple of hours.

Hi alexandra,
You should be able to do this using a script called Form Processor Pro in one of two ways (or manybe even more).
Nothing to do with Textpattern and a little bit technical to set up, but it’s a powerful form process that can be used for various things.
