Thanks for this plugin, works really well with my method of geoblogging – just updated to include your links.

Re: msd_google_map: Easily associate a location with your articles
Thanks for the code and your plugin Matt, I’ve been bringing some of the xml geoblogging across to that javascript, mainly so that you can link back and forth between blog post link (using our GeoTagIcon of course!) and specific points on the map, at a zoom level specified by another Custom field.
State of play so far is, icon in post for link to map point, ICBM meta in blog head, geofeeds linked into map.

Re: msd_google_map: Easily associate a location with your articles
Hi,
i have installed the plugin and put my google-api in place and put some code in the head of the page. But nothing happens! I can see the map addition on the write tab but i can’t do anything. I have made two custom fields: ‘lat’ and ‘long’ They are custom fields 8 and 9. If I search for a location and click in the map for the LAT and LONG attributes nothing happens. I use TxP 4.2. What do i do wrong? Please help>
Steven.

What do you mean with “ i can’t do anything?”
The map in the write tab doesnt show up?
This plugin displays a map in the “write tab” to geolocate your articles.

Re: msd_google_map: Easily associate a location with your articles
Ah a quick response, fine.
I do see the map on the write tab. When i use the searchform to search a location i find it. But i want the LAT and LONG data in the custom fields te appear. That does not work. I use this names for the fields: ‘lat’ and ‘long’ Must i use the same names in the extension tab (ID)? And i put the generated code by Google in the head.

I will do, thanks. So there is more in it then just copy and paste some code?

Re: msd_google_map: Easily associate a location with your articles
In the Extensions tab ID fields use: “custom-1” and “custom-2” respectively, “lat” and “long” go in the Preferences Advanced tab custom fields 1 and 2.
It’s pretty much copy paste from the code on those above linked pages, but in the right places!

Re: msd_google_map: Easily associate a location with your articles
Like Spot says, in extensions “Article Location” where you pasted the google API code” there is 2 ID fields.
type the custom_fields you are using there (Not the names LAT and LONG)
if you are using custom-4 for LAT, type custom-4 in that field.
Thats all you have to do.
To display google maps in your website you use the information from those to custom-fields, but this plugin wont create the maps in your site.
