I tried it, but I am no expert to continue the programming – the video lets you implement the basic functionality of commenting, but I cannot get the facebook info substitute the comment form info in the way that it actually appears in the comment.

In other words, the login process works fine, the facebook particulars appear, but when the commenter hits preview, the TXP form delivers the error message about the missing name and email details. So, if someone could in fact explain how to get the facebook info working as if it were entered via the TXP comment form, and get it working with the preview function, it would be really great/cool/awesome! ;)

I checked the facebook documentation, but it’s written for those in the know, not for average users like me. Any help is greatly appreciated :)))

I guess not.

Even if I’m sure I’ve seen a TXP powered site with the possibility of FB login for comments… :|

Adding the FB Comments Box to your site is really simple.
If that what you want, I can post a guide here.

Not quite. I would like to use TXP’s commenting system with the option for the user to use their Facebook credentials (name and avatar). The solution of the FB Comment Box means you need to swap it for TXP’s comments if I understand it correctly.

Re: [request] TXP facebook connect plugin

Exactly, zoltandragon but the guide may be an useful TXPtip.

I don’t know if, using the comment box, the responsability of the comments are of the site maintainer (the owner of the domain/site) or of Facebook: I guess the second one. This may be useful and safer (you don’t have to check the comments).

On the other hand, using the Official FB Comment Box you loose the possibility to style the comments and other funny things like this.

Bump, bump

Anyone found a solution for the problems zoltandragon was facing? Or better yet, anyone aware of a TXP-plugin that implements “Facebook connect” right out the box?
