Is Textpattern right choice for what I need?
I want to enable multiple clients to edit their own content for pages that currently are static html:
fish.washington.edu/people/armstrong
fish.washington.edu/people/rayh
You get the drift: same design for all pages other than different client photo (and of course the text); each client can have different links in menu. And at risk of belaboring obvious, only armstrong could edit /armstrong content, only rayh can edit /rayh stuff. No blogging, no commenting, no RSS, etc.; this is effectively static content as far as the viewer is concerned.
Is TXP good for something this simple? I’m hoping to use something that enables me to accomplish this task quickly and wonder if TXP is overkill. Which may be fine in terms of leaving room for new, dynamic features down the road. But I do have a rather urgent need to get this immediate task done in a couple-few weeks (meaning 4-8 hours over that time period).
Non cogito, ergo nihil sum. Qua, me vexo?

Sounds like a perfect fit to me. Article content can be edited separately from page templates, and access to each can be controlled by individual user settings. Sections can be used to manage presentation for each – it should be simple. I would take a look here for a sense of what can be done with TXP’s inherent design characteristics.
