Rename Folder Name & Create A New Folder

Hi

I am currently taking over textpattern that someone took care of.

I need to update the website. does anyone know:
1. Rename the folder name
2. Create a new folder in which I could post new articles in the website
3. I want to put the image inside the new articles.
4. Post photo Gallery in the website.
5. Do you know where all the files are stored? I didn’t find under textpattern management and my folder as well in server. It is possible under myPhpAdmin?

You could email me at erny@esarkany.com. I really appreciated it. Thanks

You post new articles by logging in to the admin panel (usually at yoursite.com/textpattern). This brings you directly to the Write panel, where you post articles.

3. I want to put the image inside the new articles.

Various ways you can do this. First, upload the images in the admin panel, Content*->*Images.

4. Post photo Gallery in the website.

Very doable, but typically a more involved process. I suggest getting comfortable posting and managing articles first.

5. Do you know where all the files are stored? I didn’t find under textpattern management and my folder as well in server. It is possible under myPhpAdmin?

You manage just about everything through the admin panel.

Re: Rename Folder Name & Create A New Folder

Thanks for your respons

1. Rename the folder name

Which folder?

This is online news. I will give more detailed information. The previous designer create a folder name called “News”. Inside this folder/page name, it contained 5-10 short-topic, when we clicked it it will bring it to the whole article with “News” title, then we want to change to “Events”. All the whole article, it is still showing “News” title. We need to change to “Events”

2. Create a new folder in which I could post new articles in the website

You post new articles by logging in to the admin panel (usually at yoursite.com/textpattern). This brings you directly to the Write panel, where you post articles.

Thats the problem. I created a new page (for example: dear abby), I write and put under “dear abby”, but it didn’t show up in the website.

Very likely “News” is the name of a section. Info about sections.

Depends on how the page templates are set up. Every article belongs to a section. Normally articles then appear only in that section (e.g. yoursite.com/news) or on the home page.
