Style showcount in comments invite

Is there a way to style the number of comments that appears after the comments invite? I notice that the invite itself has a class you can style, but the the number stands outside of it. I just want to put a margin-right on it. It might also be nice, though, to do other things, such as replacing or removing the square brackets.

Mark, have you checked the entry for comments_count? Should get you going.
