txp site relaunch
hello everybody,
we are doing a relauch of our website. the site is really complex and the blogs on our site are updated with new posts daily.
i created a test environment with the most important files. i didnt copy all files cause that would take too long.
but if i would copy all my files to the test environment, it would be outdated afte a few hours.
the problem is how can i sync the live site and my site, so my test site is always updated?
i think thats not possible so to remember what i changed, i have to write down all programming changes i made and repeat them on the live site.
what’s the most common way of relaunching a txp driven site, that changes permanently?
thanks for your advice

Re: txp site relaunch
I don’t know what to do in your currently case,
but what you was supposed to do is not creating another site, but just creating another section, page and form.
In that way you use the same content from the live site on your test page with the <txp:article_custom /> tag and the new test form.
and after you done to test, you just copying/replacing the old codes of the live site with your new test page&form codes.
I’m also have a live site and do some tests on a section+page that I named as “test”,
and I’m the only one who can view that testing page by using the rvm_privileged plugin.
hope that helps you.
