Parent/child navigation

Hello,

I understand that this might be a basic question but it’s not directly obvious to me. How do I manage parent/child pages so e.g. a breadcrumb plugin will display something like: home > item1 > item2.
Right now all of my pages are 1 level deep. I’m trying to figure out how to create an “item2” page in this case (child of item1). I looked through all the settings in “presentation” but I couldn’t find what I was looking for.

Help would be very much appreciated!

It’s not obvious at all: TXP doesn’t offer such parent child relationships for articles unless you have categories to give away and thus can relate one category to one (and only one) article: Categories are nested hierarchically.

But maybe you’re interested in a plugin solution I just stumbled upon again, soo_multidoc, that offers its own breadcrumb tag. As you can see by the example link hierarchy on this page or here you can “nest” articles into each other.

EDIT: I hope you meant “article” when you said “page” and “item”.

In bad weather I never leave home without wet_plugout, smd_where_used and adi_form_links

Re: Parent/child navigation

Some plugins may be used for nesting sections/categories/articles. Some are do breadcrums as well.
adi_menu
adi_cat_menu
stw_category_tree
wow_menu

to nest articles only, there where some suggestions here

Re: Parent/child navigation

Thanks a lot!

For now, the plugin “adi_menu” does what I want. I’ll check out the other stuff too!
