Use HTML/Textile in custom_fields

I tried to use textile in my custom_fields but that didn’t work. I found a plugin called upm_textile that seems to solve this problem.
But this plugin creates a wrapping p-tag I don’t want.
Is there a solution to avoid this p-tag? Or, is there a different solution for using HTML/ Textile in custom fields?

Not the plugin, but Textile. You can avoid that by using prepeding whitespace.
