Help assigning pages....

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I’m totally new to this.

Here is my site: http://www.jdessel.com

I just did a few things to it based on a tutorial, as I want a portfolio/blog site that actually is laid out exactly like this one: http://www.kimellefsen.com

Of course I’ll add my own graphics, etc.; it’s just the page layout I want to duplicate.

On my site, what I want to do is to have the “blog” page laid out the same way that the page that appears when you click on one of the red squares in the “work” page is laid out. That’s the way the blog page is laid out at the kimellefsen.com website.

I just don’t see how to assign that page to the “blog” section and I’m really confused.

I hope I’m making sense. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Jackie

Re: Help assigning pages....

Unless I’m missing the point I think you just need to go into the “Sections” tab, find your blog section and assign that page template to it.

Re: Help assigning pages....

But that page isn’t listed as an option to assign…

Edited to add…

It just doesn’t seem as straightforward as that. Where I can assign pages to sections, that page doesn’t come up and I don’t know what it’s called or why.

I’m guessing it might be a page generated by upm_image? If so, I don’t know how to access it, or copy its’ layout styles and forms contained in it into a new page that I can have show up in my choices of pages to assign to a section. If I knew CSS I could probably whip up that new page in a matter of minutes I’m sure, but I don’t know it and I’m lost.

Re: Help assigning pages....

I think we need to see the code for the page template that is used for your “Work” section because it is from here that we get to the page structure that you are looking for.

Actually Jacqueline, just looking at the way your site works, I think it’s swapping sections to the default but it may be quicker if you were to send me a login to stuart (at) thebombsite (dot) com and I can check it through from there. Maybe even create a new page template for you. :)

Thank you so much! I don’t think I’ve ever found a more helpful group of people as I have in this forum.
