how to restore css when corrupted

I don’t know why but my css in textpattern, which is one enormous section – I only use the basic ‘styles’ tab – has become corrupted.

I can’t work out how to find the backup to restore it. Is it in the database? If so is it encrypted in some way?

Sorry I’ve looked around the forums and can’t find the answer elsewhere, pardon me if I’ve missed it.

I have got a work around which is a text file of the styles as they were some months ago, but it would be nice to restore all the work I’ve done since then!

Thanks for any help

Re: how to restore css when corrupted

You can use phpMyAdmin or rss_admin_db_manager to repair the table.

Re: how to restore css when corrupted

Thanks for the reply colak.

I’m too technically challenged to use phpmyadmin I think, though I’ll try to understand that if all else fails.

I’ve taken your other advice and installed the admin plugin. But I can’t make the plugin show the tabs even though I’ve tried both your alternative, and someone else’s, having seen that others have this problem. I use 4.0.7. Any further suggestions?

Re: how to restore css when corrupted

Hi Alan

You should not worry about phpMyAdmin,

All you need to do is login to your database with it. Select all the tables and then use “repair” nfrom the pull down menu.

Never use “drop” as that deletes the table….

It is actually as easy as rss_admin_db_manager. The reason the plugin is handy is that it resides within txp so it eliminates the need to login to another url but it basically does the same job.
