URL's with/without article id... and comments_invite tag.... hum...

Hi, hope you’re well, thanks for stopping by.

I have a comments_invite tag which refuses to display when the full url (as in c/w …“articleId/title”) is calling the page… for no good reason (read obvious) that i can fathom… but when it’s an incomplete url (as in: “http://site.com/sectionOnly/” and no more) the <txp:comments_invite /> link displays just fine. The page is dedicated to displaying an individual article so it’s reasonably simple.

I’d be grateful if anyone can shed light on this behaviour as it seems a bit of a wrong logic to me at this time, though that’s probably just the level I’m at.

Thanks.
Kelon

Edit: out of interest… the url navigating blind into the section picks up the most recent article, but is obviously not passing a reference to other tags in the page (which it’s doing with a full url). Any pointers how I could code for this… create a default reference, txp:recent_article isn’t the answer? Cheers.

Sounds like it’s a matter of display mode for articles. Individual article statistics are generated on a per article basis within an article form. The stats are also available to the page environment when in individual article mode. If you nav to an article by section only, your page sees it as a list even if it’s only one article.

I think comments_invite looks for list mode to display, it assumes that the comments form is displaying for an individual article.
