[wiki] Updating for 4.2.0

… we could do with more hands on Textbook to bring the documentation up to scratch (especially changes to the admin side since 4.2.0). It needs up-to-date screenshots (without the numbers all over them!) and the text realigned to match the product. I intended to do it but have been sidetracked of late.
I assume you mean the circled numbers as in this screenshot. Should new screenshots use Classic or Remora?
I’m not sure what you mean by realigning the text.

Yup. Annotating the screenies is fine but it’s probably overkill to go to the level of detail of having numbers in them to refer to specific parts in the copy text. This has been debated to death somewhere and I don’t know if it was ever resolved but I think (someone correct me if I’m wrong here) that the consensus was that numbers cluttered things too much.

I guess Classic is what everyone’s used to.

Sorry, bad choice of phrase. I meant rewrite the text to match what’s actually going on in 4.2.0. The biggest culprit is the Advanced prefs page which I’ve been meaning to rewrite for ages but never got round to. I did the Basic Prefs for 4.0.8 so they only need a tweak to add the auto_dst stuff.

Just had a go at this. No screenshots yet. For the most part I’ve simply pasted in the text from the help pop-ups (from the rpc server). I haven’t done careful editing, so would be good for some other eyes to look it over.

Nice one! Why didn’t I think of doing that? I went through every help popup in the entire admin side about 2 or 3 months ago and made sure they all existed wherever I found missing ones and updated/altered the text to read better and fixed any outdated links. If only I’d thought to copy the text to the wiki while I was at it…
Thanks for the graft Mr Soo. Much appreciated.
