Failed to write file to disk (on MediaTemple)
Hi,
I now get a ‘Failed to write file to disk’ error whenever I try to upload images via various versions of txp on my mediatemple account.
What does this error mean in tech talk? No doubt the first reply I’ll get from support will be that txp isn’t working…

did you try to change the permissions. I’d start with 777 although this might seem extreme.

Have you tried to use FTP for uploading a file? because if you cant that the problem is on you hosting not txp.

colak, yes, i checked. i was working on a site.. a minute i manage to upload a pic, the next… i get that message.

If the file is large, it’s always better to FTP it first and then use the ‘Existing file’ option instead of ‘Upload file’.

I am also having the same problem with media temple, just suddenly “failed to write file to disk” … out of the blue, no idea…
Hoping it will… fix itself? anyone, any idea?

Hi,
In my case it fixed itself. Support did not fnid anything wrong their end so… it’s a mystery. If you do open a ticket make them aware that someone else had the same issue.
I am able to upload images now – I’m on cluster 2.

I’m getting this error right now, absolutely no explanation… the image is less than 100k. I hope it will sort itself out soon

I’ve justed tested my account and was able to upload an image. I’m on GS cluster 2.
