Many thanks, wet, Bloke and artagesw (and ruud too, why not?).
Great release, and can’t wait to see what ‘s coming on the pipeline.

Already submitted to Digg. Hope this one gets to the main page!

Re: Feedback to: Textpattern CMS 4.2.0 released

Thanks to everyone involved.

The only issue I ran into when upgrading my first site is with the .htaccess in the /textpattern directory that I have to protect it. The admin wasn’t showing any styling until I added the new theme directory to the rules.

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
 RewriteEngine On
 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !textpattern(/setup)?/?$
 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !textpattern/((setup/)?index|css)\.php$
 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !textpattern/textpattern\.(css|js)$
 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !textpattern/jquery\.js$
 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !textpattern/txp_img/.+\.(jpg|gif|png)$
 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !textpattern/theme/.+\.(jpg|gif|png|css)$
 RewriteRule ^(.*) - [F]
</IfModule>

Forgot to add that I’m on Dreamhost, my diag info:

Re: Feedback to: Textpattern CMS 4.2.0 released

Download done. Upgrades about to begin. Thanks many times over for your work!!

Oops…

Uh…my site can’t seem to find it’s stylesheet after the upgrade. The diagnostic error message goes like this:

Missing files:
/users/home/username/domains/mydomain.com/web/public/textpattern/../css.php

What have I overlooked?

I guess it’s the new css.php file located in the root of the zip, not in /textpattern.

Re: Feedback to: Textpattern CMS 4.2.0 released

I had exactly the same thing, could not find any errors as explained here, so I stuck it in reverse, downgraded back to 4.0.8, now I can’t get past the Language Admin panel, despite manually installing the language file where it should be…

Re: Feedback to: Textpattern CMS 4.2.0 released

6sigma, have you ever moved your entire site from one domain to another? I did that, following the instructions on Textbook, and got it all working—that is, apart from Sable’s DB backup plug-in which could never find the directory. I had no errors in my diagnostics, but it still didn’t work. I wonder if this is the same problem?

Thanks, but, no I’ve not done that. This afternoon I went about a Textpattern upgrade just as I have many times before. I have no idea what’s causing the error in diagnostics, but the site is not getting properly styled by the stylesheet.

I admit to not understanding what you meant. I had been following the long-standing upgrade instructions shown at the Textpattern website. The README.TXT file says to copy the css.php file. Once done, all is well.

Apologies for the confusion.
