a contact form project

has anyone ever made a txp site that just deals with generating forms?

we have to make a few forms, and the client has to be able to change some of the fields on them.

zem_contact_reborn is a great plugin and i’d love to use it. but we also have to export all the data that is collected to a csv file so the contacts can be managed.

Re: a contact form project

If the client only needs to choose between a few different form presets, you should be able to code the different forms and use something like “form overrides” or simply different pages for the different forms, but if the client will need to actually build the form that may end up getting very complex. In that case you might want to try Machform which, I believe, is behind wufoo. You can get a basic feel of it on their free form builder site pForm.

Nice links Jakob. I only knew about Wufoo which is indeed wonderful but you have to pay if you need more than 10 fields I think. MachForm and Wufoo are not connected though, as far as I know.

Re: a contact form project

yes, machform looks like just the ticket, as long as i can customize the page that the forms appear on, which shouldn’t be a problem it seems. thanks for the suggestions fellas

MachForm is great!
I have a couple clients using it – and they never ask for help.
It’s dead simple.

Anyone have an opinion on the difference between Wufoo and MachForms?

Re: a contact form project

i just saw that this program generates embed code, which is a real deal maker for this project. the user can go and make their form and embed it just like a youtube video lol.

My mistake, you’re right. Have to say they look more than similar.

Anyone have an opinion on the difference between Wufoo and MachForms?

I can’t give you an informed opinion but I think the main differences are:

  • wufoo offers payment integration, machform doesn’t seem to (prove me wrong, please!)
  • entry viewing and editing is more advanced in wufoo with different users allowed (v2 of machform seems to offer entry viewing in a simple form)
  • reporting is more advanced in wufoo

I’d also be interested in a more informed opinion!!

Re: a contact form project

I got put off by the amount of code and CSS produced by Wufoo for a 10 field form. Anyone actually using these with TXP? I thought it would be nice to be lazy and just produce the form in Wufoo then edit it for TXP integration with say, ZCR. But it seemed a bit much to me. Opinions?
