problem with dot5 hosting (resolved)

hi, i’m deploying a site onto this service which uses vdeck.
mysql 5, php 2 is installed

i loaded up my database into phpmyadmin, and then everything after seems to be a disaster. unfortunately “database unavailable” makes it hard to diagnose what’s going on.

tech support did tell me that localhost needs to be changed to: username.dot5hostingmysql.com

they also said you cannot connect to the database using localhost.

beyond that, my root should be fine cause i got that using phpinfo

username and password, the tech support says i don’t have to add a prefix to that like i do on my own host (the prefix being the account name). so i left those alone.

charset is at utf-8

You can change those settings by editing the config.php file in the textpattern directory.

Re: problem with dot5 hosting (resolved)

ok i got the problem resolved. what happened was i was being stubborn and didn’t want to do a fresh install of txp to test that.

when i finally came to my senses i found out that my path was wrong, because i was relying on the path that phpinfo gave me.
