mp3 player plugins..best of?
Hi,
i’m willing to add a mp3 player plugin to my txp website and am wondering which ones you’d recommend me. From a simple model, to the ones capable of loading playlists, streaming, volume buttons, etc.
thanks in advance!!

Re: mp3 player plugins..best of?
Wimpy MP3 is pretty easy to implement on it’s own, separate from TXP. It is also possible to add single mp3’s to articles using file ID numbers and forms in TXP to build Wimply buttons.
I am no plugin author, but I think it would be great if there were a plugin to easily integrate Wimpy MP3 playlists into a txp site. The Wimpy site includes documentation on how to use an existing mySQL database with the player — I imagine there is potential for a cool plugin if any developers out there wanted to give it a try…

Re: mp3 player plugins..best of?
You could also go for the JWplayer it can play audio and video files stored in playlists.
The following playlist formats are supported: * “XML“http://developer.longtailvideo.com/trac/wiki/FlashFormats#Playlists * ASX feeds * ATOM feeds with Media extensions * RSS feeds with iTunes extensions and Media extensions * Basic SMIL feeds * XSPF feeds
So you could use the build in RSS feed generator to create the playlist of a certain section.
But when you create your own xml output as a textpattern section, you have total control and can administer your playlist within textpattern the way you want..

Re: mp3 player plugins..best of?
JWPlayer is probably the most recommended, I just don’t like how it’s best suited for video these days. I recommend you look into his code archive and try to find the old players that were dedicated to mp3.

I totally forgot about the Mp3 Player plugin for single mp3 files made by Juanjo Navarro (based on this wordpress plugin, updated player file found here)
It’s really nice player when you want to add multiple players in one page.
Because when one player is running and you start a new player, the new player stops the playback of the first player…
Easy to use; see example at Sirkus Recordings
