W3C Validated HTML question
We are going to be using TextPattern on our new site, however, I’m very particular about using W3C Validated HTML or XHTML, I currently ensure that the sites that I manage either comply to HTML 4.01 Transitional or XHTML 1.0 Transitional.
Is there a way that you can edit or tweak the HTML code in TP? Because I have seen that it generates good overall code when compared to the good old days of ‘FrontPage’, but the sites that I know that have been developed using TP could do with some tweaks as to the W3C Standards.
A response to my question would be great, it could be that the code is completely accessible and that I’m worrying about nothing, again.

The code is indeed completely accessible; furthermore you will find that Txp validates out of the box.

as far as i’ve seen, generated code from txp has always validated for me. and not to open up a can of worms but you should really be using strict instead of transitional by now :)
looks like xhtml is being phased out completely though to make way for html 5.

Perhaps so, but in that light it’s odd to note that the default Txp page uses Transitional :)

Such phasing might take a little while.

I use XHTML 1.0 Strict, and Textpattern-generated code has always validated for me. Well-formed XHTML 1.0 Strict also validates as HTML5, and I have verified that my TXP sites validate as HTML5 also (by using the simple HTML5 doctype).

As far as I understand it, this is a misconception. XHTML2 is being phased out but that is a different thing to XHTML. XHTML as we know it is compatible with HTML5. HTML5 is just less prescriptive about how you choose to do your syntax. You can carry on using XHTML notation as you wish. A change of doctype is all that it entails, and you can still serve it as xhtml+xml if you want to.
