Re: rah_comment_spam

You always do this – I post a little article on my website about your plugin and then find that you’ve just updated it! Thanks!

Re: rah_comment_spam

Hi, it looks like after instaling rah_comment_spam (which by the way saved me from damn spammers :) thanks), I stoped to receive email notification when someone leave a comment on my blog.

I said it looks like, because I am not 100% sure, but I just can’t remmember anything else to be cousing this problem. Everything was working before, and then I had that spam problem, instaled the plugin, solved the spam problem, them some time after, maybe month I checked comments to see some new, and I did not receive email notification like before.
Tried by myselft, and its just not working (btw. I have that option checked in admin basics, I am on 4.0.8)
Any idea about this?
Thanks!

Glad that it worked for you.

Most likely you are blaming the wrong fruit. Rah_comment_spam won’t (neither can) modify nor disable the notice emailing.

Anyway, Have you lately updated your Textpattern install or server? Do you receive other emails sent by PHP mail()? Server specs? Did you write the article? Do you have privs to manage comments?

Re: rah_comment_spam

Thanks, well like I said, I am not 100% sure what is the problem, thoug I try here first.

I receive mails from two forms from my site, so thats working fine. I am the only user, so I guess I have all the privileges, if thats what you mean. Yes, I wrote several articles in the past months or so.
Everything is working fine, exept that email notification when a visitor leaves comment on the blog.

Only thing that comes now on my mind is that I switched hosting about 2-3 months ago, server is Apache btw, but I dont know how could that couse any problem.

Tell me something, I see now that there is newer version of the plugin. Can I just delete the old one, and install the new, maybe that do me some good :) (probably not).

Thanks.

Most likely won’t fix your problem, but it will come with pile of useful additions. Being up-to-date is recommended when it comes to any software or script.

Re: rah_comment_spam

Well, I just uninstalled the plugin, and the email notification works again. So, it was related to the plugin somehow.

Still can’t reproduce, and you haven’t told your server specs (asked them 8 days ago…), neither plugin version, so can’t help.

Well, email notification is not working again, after installing the latest version of plugin. So, its definitely something related to the plugin.

Yes, but you still haven’t provided the info I need, and I can not replicate your problem.

Ok, I updated txp some time ago, from 4.0.6 to 4.0.8, cant remember when exactly, could be arround the time when the problem starts (few months ago) but could be little earlier.
Yes, I receive other emails (contact form, and another form on the site).
Yes, I wrote several articles in the past few months, everythings fine, exept for those emails.
Yes, I have privs, I am the only admin on the site.
Server: Apache/1.3.41 (Unix) mod_fastcgi/2.4.2 mod_scgi/1.12 PHP/4.4.9 mod_throttle/3.1.2 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_psoft_traffic/0.2 mod_ssl/2.8.31 OpenSSL/0.9.8b mod_macro/1.1.2
(took these info from whois, it should be correct).

Let me know if you need anything else, and thanks for any help, really appreciate.

Whois services get the info from server response header that also your browser receives…

You could also post TXP diagnostics that is more usefull.

Note that your server is out-of-date and you really should consider updating.
