[request] Articles Rating plugin - very-very needed
Hello.
I need some rating plugin, to have ability rate articles and do some selections by ratings – most rated, worst rated etc.
All rating plugins on txp.org is outdated and won’t work, especially with 4.08.
Can anybody write simple and working rating plugin? Please :)

p.s. I think I’m not the only one who need a rating plugin…

Thank you, but this plugin is not useful. You can rate, but cannot list most rated articles etc (this functions is not implemented yet).
I think there is no real rating plugin for txp :(

Well, you have a couple options.
Write one yourself, or if it’s really important, chip in a few dollars.

With smd_query you can sort and output ratings very easily
Providing help in hacking ATM! Come to courses and don’t forget to bring us notebook and hammer! What for notebook? What a kind of hacker you are without notebok?

This is only plugin request. If I can write plugin myself, I’ll never request plugin here.
Wordpress users have much better plugin community. Here is only bla-bla’s, not real help.

Perhaps asking Jon-Michael to implement that feature would have been an option?

Still no decent star rating plugin for Textpattern? I’m looking for something similar to WP-PostRatings but can’t find anything from the plugins list or from this forum. :-/

Sorry, but instead of collecting information over at wordpress that seems hard to find there, plus deciding what you might find decent, plus guessing what you might have discovered here or elsewhere, I’ll rather list the plugins for TXP I know of :)

- jmd_rate
- pap_xpoll
- wlk_helpful
The list can be extended in case somebody knows of another plugin.

Okey, I should have given more detailed description. Star rating is the key term here. ;-) So that rules out these:
- cbe_helpful
- wlk_helpful
Those two are like thumbs up/down style. And:
- geo_vote
- pap_xpoll
These are just polls. So basically only jmd_rate would be useful… It’s just it doesn’t work. I tested it on two different Textpattern powered sites by installing and activating the plugin. Then I saved the example formatting presented in this message to a form. Seems like jmd_rate doesn’t save any data when user clicks one of the options. A demo version of how that plugin “works” is over here. (Sorry for the messy layout and stuff, it’s a test installation.)
