Re: State of Textpattern 4.1 Development

I hear that 4.3 delivers a full on pony ride… anyone know about that?

Dale,

I think you confused a pony ride with a donkey show – 4.3 takes things in a whole new direction – it’s not for everyone.

What’s the story with 4.0.9 then. In addition to it suppoting admin themes, will it be supporting the multiple site out of the box?

“Yes”, twice (this depends on the definition of “out of the box” in your area).

Re: State of Textpattern 4.1 Development

Having read through this post several times I’ve decided that far from being “out of the box”, multiple sites might be “out of my range”. Still, you never know, a few more years…

Definitely looking forward to 4.3. Haven’t had a pony ride in ages and as for donkey rides, I was still in short trousers. ;)

Any ideas on when 4.0.9 will be out?

No offense. I remember this question was that many times asked for Opera that a whole set of special acronyms was created to answer this question ;)

Now! Just start using SVN builds. I’ve never had too many problems running sites off SVN builds if you have site backups, you can always revert if something breaks.

Re: State of Textpattern 4.1 Development

Same here. I have been using the SVN builds for ages now on live sites and rarely a problem. When there is a problem it usually gets fixed quickly plus it has the advantage of helping the devs find any little bugs that might occur. Naturally I should repeat that the official advice is not to do it but heck, you have to spice life up a bit these days don’t you?

maybe this is just a matter of thinking “outside of the box” ;)

don’t forget that the link gives instructions to apply the patch. This box thing means it is going to be already integrated into the Textpattern, therefore I expect it to be doable by simple mortals like me!
