& in RSS feed
Ampersands in article titles get changed to & in RSS-feeds. How do I fix it?

Why would you want to fix something which (IMHO) isn’t broken?

Re: & in RSS feed
If other people want to show the RSS feed on their website, the article title shows ‘something & something’ instead of ‘something & something’. Most likely this is not an error of Textpattern but of settings in the other system. In concreto: one of my customers wants to publish the RSS feed on their Sharepoint Portal and gets these results.
- Does anyone know how to deal with it?
- Is it something I could/should change in my Textpattern setup, or something Sharepoint-related?
I also get these kinds of results in excerpts, when viewing related articles with tru_tags (and not in the excerpts in search results. e.g. www.ccdeschakel.be/tag/kippenvel/
But that is something I will post in that dedicated forum post.

Also in my list of recent comments the & shows &
www.ccdeschakel.be/blog – right column “recente reacties”
I only used txp:recent_comments to display those latest comments.

Textpattern encodes ampersands in RSS entry titles as &
. There seems to be a slight confusion in the RSS specifications about the proper way of encoding entities, leading your receiving system to treat these elements as raw text. The ATOM specification is a bit clearer on that topic, so you’d have a chance of steering clear from this ambiguity by using the atom feed of your site if possible.

This is a bug indeed, fixed in r3206. Thanks.

Re: & in RSS feed
I have always been confused about the difference between Atom and RSS feeds. I’ll try it. Thanks.
