Wrong page shows up as my "home" page when i "view site"

Hi,

I got everything working on my site when developing it locally. Now I’m in the process of moving it to a live server. I’ve copied everything from the local install to the live server and everythign looks okay EXCEPT, when I go to “View Site” (or if I just type in the domain “jonnfaircrest.com” in a browser) the “home” or “index” page is actually the Archive page that I’ve created.

I am new to Textpattern and I’m not sure what I’ve done wrong. Like I said, everythign seems to be working just as on my local version. You can see the Home page by selecting the Home navigation link. So that page is there and shows up, it’s just not the default Home page when someone first comes to the site. Can anyone give me some help?

Thanks!

It looks to me as though you have created a section called “home”?

In TXP the front-page of your site is actually the “default” section so you need to set that section to use the template you are currently using for your “home” section, then in your “home” section set it to show “on front page”. You should set all other sections to not show “on front page”.

You then need to set the “Home” link in your top nav (and anywhere else) to point to the root ie http://jonnfaircrest.com/ or you can use the TXP tag <txp:site_url />.

Looks fine from here.

One comment though. When I click on the thumbs in the photos page, the popup with the larger image is too big for my monitor using 1920×1200 resolution and there are no scrollbars to view the rest of it.

url of tested picture: jonnfaircrest.com/index.php?file=thumbpop&pic=11 but you have to click on its thumbnail to know what I mean:)
