Image Tab: Thumbnail Creation
Where can I find the options so that the image tab automatically creates the thumbnail. I looked in what I thought would be the obvious location, but no dice.
Any assistance would be appreciated (and I cannot believe in all my years of using TXp this has never come up for me before)

Gulfcoast: Not exactly. I am using bot_show_image and he states in that thread that you need the image create thumbnail option turned on …. I am having the toughest time figuring out exactly what is meant by that ….

Let me know what you find out as I just installed it and I’m not getting any thumbs that I can see either.

Maybe you are talking about lam_image_uploader?

Maybe I’m mistaken and you’ve tried this long ago, but I thought txp first begun to create thumbnails automatically after you had first entered a width/height value and created a thumbnail in the image edit pane. Thereafter it remembers the setting and creates thumbs automatically with those settings for all subsequent images. If remove the settings and click create, it will thereafter create no thumbnails.

I’m a bit confused.
As Jakob says, a thumbnail will be created automatically, at the specified size, when the image is uploaded and saved.
The thumbnail is created whether you click Create or not.

Keith, that’s right. Now, if you remove your height, width and crop settings (and press “create” to register them, clicking save doesn’t seem sufficient) so that the settings are in future empty, you will find that thumbnails are not automatically made of uploaded images.
As I see it, the “image create thumbnail option” referred to above means you need to have created a thumbnail of an image at least once to “activate” thumbnail creation.

Yep, removing those parameters switches thumbnail creation off – I should have acknowledged that point more clearly.

Then maybe I misunderstood the problem. I assumed that progre55 didn’t see the ‘create thumbnail’ part in the image tab at all…
