How do I make a word in title emphasized?

I know this is basic BUT I can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. All I want to do is emphasize a word in a title of my article when I write it. All the defaults are the same and set to using Textile. So in the title area I write What _are_ Web Standards? then save and view and it still shows the underscores, instead of emphasizing the word ‘are’. Thanks for your help in advance!

Re: How do I make a word in title emphasized?

Thanks MattD. I just thought since Textile is ‘On’ I could easily add that short textile code to make it work.
